Dr. Kira Manusis serves as a Competitive Strategy Advisor at Ceramedix, Inc. As a practicing clinician at the forefront of cutting-edge medical advancements, she helps oversee the company’s medical initiatives and product development strategies. 

Dr. Manusis has over 20 years of experience as an ophthalmologist, specializing in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery. She currently serves as an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the prestigious Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and as a Director at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. Her expertise extends to a comprehensive range of refractive surgeries, including photorefractive keratectomy and Intralase LASIK. She is also proficient in specialty surgeries such as penetrating keratoplasty, descement stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK), cataract extraction with intra-ocular lens implant, and laser-assisted cataract extraction. Dr. Manusis’ advanced surgical skills and dedication to patient care have established her as a respected authority in the field. 

Dr. Manusis has been the recipient of multiple prestigious awards, including the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Honors Scholarship and the Salk Scholarship. She graduated summa cum laude from Brooklyn College (CUNY) with a BS in biology. She earned her MD from New York University School of Medicine, completed her residency in ophthalmology at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, and pursued a fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at the Harkness Eye Institute at the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia campus.
